AYCE Wings Final Rounds 7, 8, 9, 10 @ St. Louis

Final Rounds 7, 8, 9 & 10 - Mississippi Honey & Honey Garlic Again!

I was starting to hit the wall at round 7 partially because the wait time between orders was increasing.  I wasn't sure if this was intentional or because they were busy...

But, I was tired of getting only 4 wings per order so I kindly asked for my last 3 rounds all at once and our server obliged.  I was a bit surprised she would let me do it but, to be honest, she was very accommodating to all our requests the entire night despite all the AYCE chaos around us.  She was pleasant to deal with and she was prompt with reorders and water requests. On top of that, she didn't rush us even though we were affecting her turnaround time... I mean we were there for a total of 4 hours!  She deserved a round of applause!

Although my insane initial goal to attempt to eat all the flavours they offered, I decided to get Honey Garlic for the last 3 orders. Some of the flavours such as the Caribbean Jerk or Mississipi Honey were just not as satisfying.

I mean, the main thing is to enjoy the experience right? :)

On that note, here are some numbers of this legendary night:

LIVE: All You Can Eat Wings at St. Louis! It BEGINS

Round 1:  Hot and Honey with Fries

Initial thoughts... Can the Urban Foodie eat an order of every single wing flavour? Only time can tell.

Strategy:  Eat less fries and minimize fluid intake!

AYCE Promotional Notes:
You can pick from fries or veggie sticks / vegetables as the side to accompany your wings. Once you choose one, you cannot change it for subsequent wing orders.  But you are allowed to order just wings as well. Subsequent orders come on batches of 4 wings.

#Wingsanity at St. Louis means... $19.99 AYCE Wings!

At St. Louis locations across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, #wingsanity is in the air!  From March 24 to April 13, 2014, it's all you can eat wings for $19.99 (with the purchase of a large beverage)!

It's a great deal for those of us who can still knock back a pint and at least 3 pounds of wings (since 2 pounds of wings are $21.99*)!

It may be a tall task for many but at least nothing is off the table - you can still get variety with original or boneless and their full arsenal of flavours... Who's up for the challenge?

*Price at the Dufferin & Finch location.

Real Sports Bar & Grill

Real Sports Bar & Grill
15 York Street
Toronto, ON M5J 0A3

Date Visited: September 24, 2013

I was at Real Sports Bar & Grill last Tuesday for a preseason Sens @ Leafs game. I was surprised how packed this place was at 5:30pm!  It's the love of the Leafs!  Good thing we made reservations.

This place is the ultimate sports bar for real - how can you go wrong with a 2-storey high television and a massive sports ticker propped above the bar?

Service was slow given the crowd, but the servers gave periodic updates to let you know you weren't forgotten about.

When you see a menu state, "We believe that a great sports bar is synonymous with great wings," how are you not compelled to order wings?  Further, you are reminded that Real Sport's own Chef Tony was voted the Wing King of Toronto for the Best Chicken Wings.

With so much hype, I ordered the Thai Sweet Chili wings - the receipe that got Chef Tony the job, literally!

Impressions?  Large wings with a great crispy batter and a tangy sweet chili sauce. The kicker? They are so moist and juicy on the inside!  These are definitely some of the best wings in Toronto!

The only thing is that the wings only come with celery and carrots. I ordered a side of fries to accompany my meal. The fries were soft and fleshy - very reminiscent of Swiss Chalet fries.

I left happy with time to spare for the pick drop at 7pm.  A solid dinner right before the Leafs game!
